On June 25th, we had what we hope was a very informative session on the proposed redistricting impacts on WLHS. One thing we learned is that there are neighborhoods where people don’t yet know that they could be impacted by these redistricting plans. If you were not able to make the meeting and still aren’t sure of the potential impacts, please review the attached presentation from Thursday. It provides details on the specific polygons (areas) covered in each option. If you live in Hobbit’s Glen, the southern area of the WLHS district, or near Cedar Lane Park, your home may be included in the redistricting. If you aren’t sure of your polygon number, you can look it up here: HCPSS Maps
If you are in one of the neighborhoods identified as possibly moving to another school, please reach out to your neighbors and make sure they are aware of the possible move. We need all of our WLHS community – past and present – to reach out to the Superintendent with our thoughts. The best way to do that is to complete the Superintendent’s redistricting survey prior to August 1st. Neighbors need not have kids attending HCPSS to respond to the survey. The link to the survey is here.
Details about the impact to WLHS neighborhoods are in this July 25 presentation.
