WHO WE ARE
The mission of the Wilde Lake High School Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is to engage and empower families and the community to help each WLHS student reach his or her potential. Working together, the members of the PTSA can play an important role in helping to ensure that every child at Wilde Lake thrives now and is ready for whatever the future holds for them. Our values are: collaboration, commitment, accountability, respect, inclusiveness, and integrity.
The PTSA is an all-volunteer organization involved in many aspects of our school community. We partner with other school PTAs in Howard County and Maryland in our work. Among our many activities, we:
Advocate and advise for our children, parents, and community
Support other parent and student groups, like Booster clubs, in their activities to help our children to learn and grow
Sponsor events to show appreciation to our teachers and school staff
Host family and community building events such as Bingo Nights and family dinners
Fund 5 Scholarship/Achievement Awards
Sponsor mental health initiatives for our students, families, and staff
Provide a safe alternative for our Seniors by hosting an After Prom party
The WLHS PTSA is part of the National PTA, the largest child advocacy organization, whose sole purpose is the education and welfare of all children at home, in our schools and communities nationwide. There are over 7 million members in the National PTA and nearly 220,000 members in the Maryland PTA! Therefore, while our focus is on our own WLHS community, we are also part of state and national advocacy efforts on behalf of our children. To learn more about the National PTA, go to www.pta.org.
Join us! We encourage you to join the PTSA today. There are many ways to show your support. If you are interested in volunteering, donating, or helping in any way, please contact us.
